The sage is usually placed in a fireproof bowl or plate, after which it is lit. After the bundle has burned for a while, smoke begins to develop, this smoke is then blown/swept with the hand or a feather around the person, object or place to be cleaned and balanced. Our white sage is from the coastal mountains of California. It is a large-leafed sage that is much appreciated for its rich aromatic properties. This sage has one of the strongest scents and burns with a rich smooth smoke. Each bundle is rolled individually by hand.
